Wedding Comparison

I have this friend named Grant Conroy here in Brisbane, Austrlia and he and his fiancee are currently organising their big wedding day. He's convinced me the missus is doing most of the organising, but I'm not so sure. Boring. Anyway, he seemed interested in the sites I rank well for on google. After realising it's handy for making some extra beer money (or more money to fund the massive wedding ring), he was keen to learn the way of the word. Read on to see how he's doing

My buddie's first website. It's about all things weddings

After deciding on a decent website name that was actually available (WeddingCompare.com - Compare wedding photography) We installed a fresh copy of nukedit and whiped up a quick design using photoshop (which he found on a torrent) Being a fairly complex tool to use for the first time, I gave him a bit of a hand.

It's not top secret to be Ranking well for Wedding Rings

Ranking well for wedding related words (or any other suitable niche) is not top secret at all. It really is just good old fashioned common sense and lots of reading. If you think logically, analytically and have good observational skills, there's gold out there and right now, those who are out there looking for it know it's a gold rush. He's a really simple guide
  1. Think of a niche you're interested that isn't too popular to start with. http://www.nichebot.com
  2. find a domain name thats available and related to your niche (godaddy.com is fine)
  3. set up nukedit software (sites seem to rank really well using it)
  4. Buy the best damned SEO book about how to rank on search engines and make a successful online business. Sure, it might seem expensive (about $100 now I think), but success is guaranteed. I thought I was a pro until I read it.
  5. Participate on SEO and webmaster forums like http://www.webmasterworld.com

So how is this wedding website of Grants doing?

Well, it's November 2006 and it's been online for only 1 day. Check back here often for a progress update. I predict around $50 to be made in first month, Grant is aiming for $100

Grants Wedding Comparison Website Updates

19 September 2006
Site goes live. Only one page of content. 0 links. (except for new wedding links on this page)

30 September 2006
WeddingCompare.com makes it's first $15 in only 10 days. It hasn't even started ranking for wedding photographer yet. Grant (the site owner) is currently working on building links to the site for photography related keywords.

15 November 2006
Grant recently informed me he accidently had some help from his sister who clicked on some ads. Ooops! This is a no no and can get him banned. He's asked his family NOT to help out by clicking ads now. Besides, it's nicer to see results without false clicks.

$US70 in his first month. Not bad at all. Especially considering he's never made a website before. This probably translates to $1 an hour of labour. However, this is going to be residual income and will grow and grow.
